I have to confess, I haven't been as active as usual this week, so only a few weekend links this week, but they are good ones!!!
30+ ways to use White vinegar from the Humbled Homemaker is a great read for ideas for non toxic cleaning and personal care
How to weed out the lie that you are not beautiful From Lisa-Jo Baker is an important one, even if you don't have daughters.
These are the important things from Red and Honey is a timely reminder.
Thank you and goodnight!

Weekend Links
Some nice encouraging posts this week, with a lot of honesty going on.
This Post from Red and Honey this week made me smile, in light of the way I have been feeling. Lapses happen, and ANYTHING we can do to improve is good.
How To Homeschool form SimpleHomeschool.net is a lovely central resource, although may have a few changes for English families.
5 Homemade Laundry Detergent Recipes form The Humble Homemaker has great ideas, which it is my aim to try this year....
Homemade Blusher made from dried rasberries looks worth a try from The cleandish
How to Intentionally Choose children's Extracurricular Activities from Keeper of the Home is a nice balanced piece.
Why There's No Such Thing As "Just a mom" from Lisa-Jo Baker is an amazingly inspiring post. Don't say it, mums, just don't say it.
but....
Show your Husband Respect from Modern Alternative Mama is my hands-down favourite post of the week!!! This is something I am always saying to my DH, that men are portrayed so negatively nowadays. (A program is just about to air in the UK called MAN UP!!!! How disrespectful is that!!) This is my mission, to build up DH and my 3 boys to believe that they are strong and powerful, and that that's ok, that is how God made them, and to learn to keep that power under control! They are capable, not failures, they are honourable, not to be pulled down! Are you with me girls!?
Enjoy!

What happened there???? (And Weekend Links)
Wow, where did this week go??
I looked up and it is Saturday! I have had a productive week though, updating my Home makers binder, trying new food, and relaxing with friends.
So I will be posting my Friday recipe on Saturday today!!
First though, my weekend links.
Homemade Popcorn from GNOWFGLINS (it's a crazy great acronym) looks yummy, never seen red palm oil, s might have to give it a go!
These hand warmers are a nice idea, from Little House Living, although now we don't own a microwave, they would not be as easy to warm up.
Off-Grid Alternatives to Everyday Appliances from Mom With A Prep was a nice read, some good tips, especially the root cellar idea....(pick up all the tips you can from wherever you can...)
And since I am GOING to start it this year,
the beginner vegetable garden at the Modern Homesteader has been a great starter to read for my fledgling veg patch.
Enjoy!!

Weekend Links
Ahhhhh. I am finally sat down!!
My lovely dogs decided it would be funny to destroy a 15kg bag of flour while we were at church today! Needless to say, I spent a while cleaning it up, and cleaning them up!
I had to laugh, or I would have cried.
I chose to see it as an incentive to mop my floor, which has been on my to do list all week.
So this week, I have not had much time to peruse the blogosphere, but came up with these crackers:
The Boy tricks me down a rabbit hole @The Common Room - made me giggle, it's all in the tone....
Squash Comparison @ Domestic Serenity - Very VERY true!
and
A day in the life @ KOTH - I love this series, but this one especially spoke to me, as we have been waiting on God for our adoption of Little Bud!
Only a few, but worth the read.

Recommendations from this week...
Ahhhhh, a weekend's rest!
Saturday has always been the day that I try to do very little, as Sunday is a busy day for us, but recently, Hubby has been working extra shifts and our boys go to Kickboxing lessons on a Saturday afternoon.
As we have been without a car for a while now, this means a bus trip and a two hr class for us to sit in on.
Daddy usually takes the boys, but with his shifts, it's been Mama's turn. So no day off.
However, a cancelled lesson means a day to relax, so here are a few of the websites and blogs I have been interested in this week.
Links
Is your vision of your personality too narrow? @youngwife'sguide (this is me!!)
10 Things you didn't know about sugar post on thehuffingtonpost.com (currently on day 3 without sugar, feeling a little off, but I'm the girl who passes up on dinner to eat pudding, so I shouldn't expect any less really!)
Week 15 of 52 ways for more Serenity in life and home @Domesticserenity
Ferments @realfoodlover (trying the ginger beer ferment as we speak)
Enjoy!
